Release Statement
Goosehound returns again to present it's fourth release, the Vizard EP by Nicholas Sauser and Ditch. These two are already making themselves known with excellent releases on labels like Microcosm, Safari Electronique and Minibar. This record is another must have for those who treat their ears well and enjoy late night dancefloor adventures.
The title track, Vizard, starts the listener on a dark journey dripping with eerie rhythms and synthetic noises. A kick emerges from the moody ambience to lead the way for syncopated percussion and brooding bass. All of these elements build together to create an infectious and danceable atmosphere sprinkled with the remains of a dissected conversation.
Argentina's whiz kid Barem pulls Vizard in a funkier direction with his rework, while maintaining the moody atmosphere of the original. With shuffling percussion and a bassline designed to invigorate, the haunting beeps add the slightest oomph while keeping the listener shrouded in mystery as to where the track will travel next. New layers of found sound and engineered samples work their way into the track as the adventure continues culminating in an orgasm of reverberation.
I Gotta Move On is a melting pot of dark, groovy and quirky ingredients; a recipe perfected simply for enjoyment. The vocal samples are chopped so fine you'd think they were cut with a chef's knife. A melodic beat takes over your body and sends your mind on vacation. Progressing from a quick chop and slowly turning sporadic, the high hat displays a great rhythm at either end of the spectrum.
